May 7, 2021. #3. I have to say very cheap USB cables are more prone to connection issues, need to be unplugged and plugged in again more often. Could be an issue with contacts wearing, if you plan on keeping your DAC a long time. I found Amazon basics cables to be particularly poor in that respect when I used one with a USB WiFi dongle.
I came from using the Tidal App on my AppleTV4k connected with HDMI to installing Audirvana on an old laptop and running USB stream to my XMC2. I splurged and bought the Monolith USB cable for $15. Went back and forth between the generic printer cable and the MonoPrice, no difference, just a nicer looking cable.
