I plan to replace the 4GB RAM with a 16GB RAM, but have been told that the maximum RAM I can add is only 8GB as the specification sheet of my desktop mentioned - Supports 2GB,4GB, 8GB UDIMMs - Support up to 16GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computer. I went to a IT shop selling memory and was told Intel i5 can support 16GB memory chip.
Report abuse. Look at Task Manager again and Memory. When you place your mouse pointer over an area, see what it shows. See example image below. Click on, tap, or activate image to enlarge it. You may want to run a Memory check too. Using the search icon, type memory in the box. See example image below. Click on Run as administrator.119 Sort by: xenomyst1 • 7 yr. ago You CAN mix them, but it's typically easier to just get the same as what you currently have. You want to make sure each stick has the same cas latency, timings and voltage at the very least. (You could edit all that in the BIOS, but it's a huge pain and not worth it imo).5k7Kq6. 264 120 237 74 463 322 344 291 302
